Recommended for serious XC racers, Berd's XC25 Series Carbon wheels are unmatched in value. The XC Series Carbon wheels weigh less than 1,200 grams (I9 Solix Hubs). Berd spokes provide 200% better vibration damping than metal spokes, giving you speed over rough terrain.

The XC25 wheelset is built around either our flagship Berd Talon Hub featuring hooked hub flanges designed to work specifically with Berd spokes along with a dual-sprung 54t ratchet freehub or Industry Nine Solix Centerlock hubs, delivering almost instantaneous engagement and long-term reliability.

These Berd wheels are also available to be ordered using the Onyx Hook Flange Hub System. This option is available in 12x142 (including single speed), 12x148, and 12x157 super boost rear spacing. Please allow up to 4-6 weeks for delivery of wheels with Onyx hubs.

TECHNOLOGY

Berd spokes are made from an advanced polymer called ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) that has 12 times the strength-to-weight ratio of steel and floats on water. Berd spokes have an improved fatigue life compared to steel and are impervious to the elements.

Outstanding Wheels

After 6 months, I can say that the XC25s handle rocky Pennsylvania hills very well. They also track very true and smooth through the corners while acceleration is noticeably quick. Also, the older I get, the lighter I like my XC bikes to be. And, there is no better place to cut weight than the wheels. So, I am extremely happy with the Berd wheels. The I9 hubs are very nice too.

I have Stan's Valor, Stan's Podiums SRD, and Mavic Crossmax Pro Carbon wheels on my other XC bikes. The Berds are the favorite

Wow, these wheels are awesome !

I was looking for a light wheelset for an upcoming 60 mile and 100 mile XC MTB race, that also had enough width to run a 2.4 tire, and didn't feel too harsh. After a lot of research I pulled the trigger on these and could not be happier. I was a little nervous that the 25mm rims may be too narrow at first, but I was wrong.
These wheels spin up really quickly, are not too harsh, and the traction has been great with both 2.3 and 2.4 tires i've tried on them. Very comfortable ride. I've been riding them a few months now and zero issues at all. I would highly recommend these.

Great and light wheels

I have been riding the xc22 wheels for a few months. I am really enjoying these wheels. They are light durable and look amazing. The spokes hold up incredibly well too. The Arizona trails are no joke and these wheels can take a beating.

Cornering at high speeds is no problem

I've been riding the XC25's for a few months now and they are legit. With little rain here the trails here have been dry, dusty and loose making cornering a little sketchy. Not with these though, it's noticeable the extra milliseconds the wheels allow the tire to stay in contact with the ground. I'm able to corner at speed and not loose any momentum at all on the trail. Awesome wheelset! Light, durable, and dampening.
