At Berd, we listen to our riders and what we heard was our riders wanted a lighter hubset with more engagement. The result is the new Talon ESL hubset. Talon ESL was developed by Berd and Erase Components in Belgium to create our lightest and highest-performing hubs using the hook flange interface, designed specifically for use with Berd spokes.
ESL stands for Equal Spoke Length. The new hub flange design has different drive and non-drive hook widths to create equal spoke lengths. That means there is one spoke size for all spoke positions in the wheelset, which simplifies maintenance and repairs should you need them.
The Talon ESL hub set weighs 333 grams and features a titanium 70 tooth ratchet freehub driver. The hubs are currently available exclusively with the HAWK30 Gold Wheelset until April of 2026.
