Make your wheels better than new by rebuilding your existing wheels with Berd spokes. Your wheels will lose 100 – 200 g of rotational weight, which will help you accelerate faster and ascend easier. You will ride with ease over rough terrain with 200% better vibration damping than steel spokes.

• Significantly less expensive than buying new wheels
• Also applies to new hubs and rims
• Current lead time for most wheelsets: 2-4 weeks from the time that parts arrive at Berd

Options:

• Choose what to (re)build:  wheelset or single wheel
• Choose the number of total spokes for your wheelset (44, 48, 52, 56, 60, or 64) or single wheel (20, 24, 28, 32, 36)
• Choose spoke color: white or black
• Default spoke nipples are Sapim's aluminum 16mm Double Square Polyax with Secure Lock in black

  • Shipping: Find a box and pay for shipping your wheels, hubs, or rims to Berd. Please indicate order number on package when shipping. Ensure all loose components including tires, disc brake rotors, valves, tape, cassette, etc. are removed prior to shipping. Do not remove freehub body or end caps from the hubs, as these are necessary for proper wheel building.

Add a Berd Service Kit to your new Berd wheel order and receive all of the tools and supplies needed service your wheels - including spare spokes!

Disclaimers:

  • Hubs that are not hook flange, J-bend or standard tangential straight pull must be pre-approved by Berd prior to sending.
  • All rims must have access holes (centered over spoke holes) that allow tensioning from the tire side of the rim.
  • We are unable to rebuild many "system" wheelsets with proprietary spoke/hub/rim systems, along with all wheels that use radially laced, straight pull hubs. Paired spokes are also not compatible.
  • Some rims are front and/or rear specific. Please notify us of these situations before the build is started to ensure that the wheels are built correctly.
  • Some hubs require modifying the hub flange, which may void the warranty of your hub manufacturer.
  • If wheels are sent with metal spokes installed those spokes will be removed and disposed of. Metal spokes are not returned with the completed wheels.
  • Please contact us with any questions about these situations or if you need something that  is not listed.
  • Please see our list of Known Hub Compatibility Issues list for incompatible hubs.
  • On single wall or shallow rims, the spokes & nipples have a chance of protruding into the rim bed, which can lead to tire/tube failure. Please ensure that there is proper clearance between the rim bed and spoke bed before ordering.

Backed by Berd's 5-Year Limited Warranty

TECHNOLOGY
Berd spokes are made from an advanced polymer called ultra high molecular weight polyethylene that has 12 times the strength-to-weight ratio of steel and floats on water. It also has a significantly improved fatigue life and is impervious to the elements.

Ultimate light build.

For me light responsive wheels are a must.
For accelerating out of corners or getting the speed/ momentum for a punchy short climb.
The spokes from Berd, combined with the Extra Lite rims and hubs was better than my expectations.
Thank you, let me know if there’s a better combination available.

8 sets & counting

I have been using Berd for years now and currently have 8 sets of wheels all laced with Berd spokes. They range from SB140 (x2 bikes), ASR (x2 bike), Allied Able (x2 bikes) and spare wheels for the gravel race bikes for muddy courses. The only failure I have had was my fault being careless with a heat gun. The weight savings is real. My ASR XC wheels are 891g, SB140 wheels, 1269g and my gravel wheels, Zipp 303 XPLR SW/Berd/Extralite hubs, 1198g. 1198g for an AERO wheel set. I ride double black tech and blue jump lines on the SB140 without fear and the vibration damping is awesome on my gravel race wheels. Berd is the word.

Wish I'd gone with Berd spokes sooner!

It's hard to describe the difference in trail feel. It's a fine tuning kind of thing, but it's there.
The improved traction is tangible.
The reduction of inertial forces is also tangible, especially when braking.
Aggressive riding is slightly less exhausting too, which is nice.

BL: It's a better ride.
