I read several reviews of the Berd wheels, and everyone who tried them said they delivered on both weight and comfort. I concur with the other reviewers. The weight difference is most obvious on climbs, but the wheels reach speed faster on any terrain than the wheels I've used in the past.
But the biggest payoff of the wheels is their ability to absorb some of the harshness of riding on gravel. I'm using them on my Crux gravel bike, and they make every ride I do a bit more comfortable. That also equates to more speed.
In sum, these wheels are the best investment I've made for my gravel riding.
I bought my Sparrow wheels about a year ago and was immediately shocked by how much more enjoyable they are to ride than anything else I have ridden previously. Especially going uphill. And I can descend full gas even on bumpy pavement with confidence because of the way they absorb the shock. Have been running them with a pair of Rene Herse 700C x 35 Bon Jon Pass tires on the road. Great combination.

After a few weeks of use, I can tell wheels spin up faster/easier and have lower resistance to keep rolling faster/longer with onyx vesper hubs.
Wheels seem to hit a wind resistance wall at higher speeds 17-21mph. Need to install a hub speed sensor because it shouldn't be attached to spokes.
I don't notice wheels cushioning at all because I'm running higher/safer pressures to protect carbon rims. I damaged aluminum rims several times before mounting Berd. It's better to learn on cheap wheels before putting something nice on like Berd.
Painting spokes seems to protect them from fraying and may make them more aero. Looks great.
I'm still evaluating to see if I want to mess with a set of Berd with rim brakes. Truing seems to be much more involved with removing tire and I may not want to mess with on aluminum rim brakes.
