Berd enables all people to enjoy the planet.

This statement drives everything we do at Berd. We exist to develop products and technology that help people to get out of their offices, schools, stores, or homes and enjoy cycling to its fullest. To do this, we make wheels and spokes that are fast, comfortable, and reliable. In realizing our vision, we have three commitments to ourselves and cyclists everywhere: 1) Sustainability – Making our products in an environmentally friendly way, 2) Stewardship – Taking care of cycling trails and outdoor spaces, and 3) Diversity and Inclusion – Supporting individuals of all backgrounds and abilities.

We carefully choose the materials used in our products to minimize the impact to the Earth. For example, our spokes are made from bio-based ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). This reduces our reliance on fossil-based resources and provides climate-neutral raw materials without compromising performance. In everything, we want to leave the planet better than we found it.

Berd is a proud partner in the maintenance and upkeep of our local bike trails. We adopted a trail near our headquarters in Hopkins, MN and are responsible for routinely cleaning and reporting required maintenance or repair. It is a great way for us to show our civic pride and make positive changes in the community.

At Berd, we believe that people of all backgrounds should be able to enjoy cycling. To help advance this commitment, we support athletes from marginalized communities, and have started right here at home. Organizations we financially support include:

Bone Saw Cycling Collective is a Minneapolis/St. Paul based cycling organization whose mission is to make cycling better for all by improving its members' skill in any and all cycling disciplines, while fostering a non-judgmental atmosphere.
